Gore/Horror AU where Jack Spicer takes his one of his plans far too far.
After a particularly thorough beating Jack stops appearing to showdowns. One showdown, fine. Two is suspicious, but after a surprising number of absences the Monks take it upon themselves to look for Jack. Arriving at his lair they find him in his lair completely unconscious. Thinking they’ve arrived just in time they take a look around and try to wake up the boy. His lab is trashed, the goth is bloodied, but curiously Jack shows no of serious injury. They don’t know where the blood came from, but it’s a relief. Jack however has no memory of what happened. The only thing he knows is that he can’t get rid of a faint buzzing in his head. Thinking he has a concision the monks take him to there temple just to be safe.
Over a short time Jack seems to get better, but continues to experience blackouts. The buzzing gets louder and Jack complains enough to get Kimiko to take a look at his head. To her great surprise she realises that head is metal.
Jack is either entirely robotic or partially so. Jack did something above stupid while trying to make himself a better fighter. More ridiculous then ever before, and the worst part is that whatever he did worked…mostly. Either Jack has turned himself into a Cyborg, or this is one of his creations gone haywire, and the real Jack is still ‘missing’. The monks spend there time trying to figure out which of the two is true. The buzzing in the robot boy’s head gets louder. Sparks fly. His circuitry starts going horribly wrong, and Jack’s blackouts get more frequent, and a glitch kicks up. Now, Jack has no memory when he blacks out, but he continues to tick, and move, and function and in these moments he is a soulless machine. Over time he slowly starts becoming aware of his slipping personality. His split personality. Worse yet, the mechanical part of him seems to be awake more then his human half. At the same time, the longer the glitch stays the stronger he denies the fact that he is a machine (be it due to his building paranoia or the glitch. His robot half does not believe his is a robot). He starts getting more frantic, more disoriented and more dangerous. He’s not afraid to hurt the monks, but are the monks really prepared to stop this problem once and for all?
Throughout the AU it’s impossible to tell if Jack has turned himself into a cyborg/Robot, or if this creation has scared off/hidden/injured or killed the real Jack and taken his place, (simply thinking it is real Jack). Only Jack Spicer can fix the malfunction in the robot, but Jack Spicer is the robotic problem.
Who will live, who will die. What really happened to Jack? Will he ever get fixed? It’s all a wonderfully dark and horribly creepy mystery…
AU based on this song. I guess I was listening to it too much.
"If you truly want to escape the ordinary, you’ll simply need to keep evolving," says Izaya to Mikado.
Mikado takes his advice. He keeps evolving. He evolves every day. He grows wings. He becomes a butterfly. He flies into the sky and never returns. This is not what Izaya wanted. Izaya is in despair
